Demands

In Swedish

These are our 11 demands to reach our goal which is to eliminate all attitudes leading to sex-buying:

1 Criminalize sex-buying in all countries

We demand that the so called “Sex-Buyers Law” be implemented in all countries immediately, making it legal to sell sex but illegal to pay for sex. This model is the only possible model for any country looking to reduce sex-buying and prostitution.

2 Zero tolerance against sexual harassment

We demand a school system that continuously evaluate and secure that all education implements and practices a zero tolerance policy against sexual harassment, by obligations to report and act. Several studies show that schools are the most common place for sexual harassments to occur, mostly between students.
The education act states that schools must carry target-oriented efforts to counteract abusive treatment of preschoolers and students.

3 Porn filters

We demand that a filter be installed, filtering out pornography from all public spaces, from the networks in preschools and schools, from the technical devices (computers, tablets) that are handed out to students by schools, and from every internet and mobile subscription.

The easy access to pornography produces sexist and unequal attitudes that in turn affects school environment and society as a whole.

4 Age verification at porn sites

We demand that every site distributing pornography also provides a tool for so-called age verification. In practice, this would mean that a person who wishes to visit a site containing pornographic content would need to confirm their legal age (18 or older) by using BankID, for example, before entering the site. An age-limit if you may, much like that on alcohol, and cigarettes.

5 Civil rights law: prostitution

We demand a civil rights law making sex-buyers having to pay a damage reward to every person he or she has bought for sex. The damage reward must be equal to the actual harm caused by the actions of the sex-buyer.

Research shows that a judicial procedure where the damage reward claims are being motivated by thorough explanations of how people in prostitution are being harmed by being bought for sex, would have a normative effect due to the general public becoming more informed about the harmful effects of sex-buying.

6 Civil rights law: porn

We demand a civil rights law where individuals who are affected by the harmful effects of pornography, both the effects of consumption and production, can claim a damage reward.

Research shows that a judicial procedure where the damage reward claims are being motivated by thorough explanations of how people are being harmed by pornography would have a normative effect because the general public would become more informed on the consequences that pornography can have.

7 More resources

We demand specific resources set aside to specialized police groups working targeting sex-buyers, EXIT-programs and support agencies for people in prostitution, and support systems for sex-buyers who wishes to change their behavior.

Sex-buying is not a phenomenon happening only in big cities, which is why the work against sex-buying must be prioritized in all cities, in all countries.

8 Higher minimum penalty for sex-buying

We demand that the minimum penalty for sex-buying be extended from fines to at least three months imprisonment. Despite the fact that such a change in penalty scale would increase police resources, it also comes with an important signal value towards potential sex-buyers and others in society, which leads to changed attitudes towards sex-buying.

9 Make sex-buying illegal abroad

In Sweden, we demand that sex-buying would be made illegal even though its happening in a country where sex-buying currently is legal. For this crime, a Swedish court should also not be bound to what punishment is prescribed in that specific country where the sex-buying took place.

10 Quality sex-education

We demand a quality proof sex-education in schools where research based, critical discussions on pornography, norms, sexual harassments and sexual assaults are included on a regular basis.

This knowledge also needs to be included in any teacher education, among others.

11 Obligatory education

We demand an obligatory, national/international education on sexual crimes for all judicial systems, both in the legal educations and for already active lawyers, judges, prosecutors, police employees, jurors, and others. Such an education must contain knowledge, research and psychology connected to sexual crimes, psychological effects of sexual assault victims, destructive gender roles, pornography, and the importance of early investigation measures and proper interrogations.
